Harbour Island Buggy Ride

There's not much to do on this tiny speck of an island and that's kind of the point.  This is Bermuda minus the past  75 years of business development.  It is a sleepy jewel of an island in the best possible way where everything about the island says "slow down".  There's no barrage of water parks, no crowds, no cacophony, no tennis courts, no casino - there's nothing to do!  And, again, that's the point.  People rile against Bermuda for its lack of activities but what does it say about people today when "something to do" translates into "here we are now, entertain us"?   This island is about three square miles and clotted with houses and criss crossed with roads in varying states of maintenances (some are just sandy paths).  The beaches and water rival Bermuda and, unlike Bermuda, there is a reasonably safe way for the casual tourist to get around:  Golf cart.  As far as the kids (and their parents) are concerned, just driving the golf cart all day is a day well spent, taking in the scenes of Briland.  The places is no secret to the rich and famous which has drawn them here and put incredible pressure on the land costs and food costs are already high due to the cost of importing it here, so the locals can't have it easy to get by.  They are lucky - very lucky - in one sense though:  They get to live here all year.  Then again, our own little tropical island ain't too shabby either!
