Now, a word about television. We were never against television but we always thought that there was no reason to push it on the kids - especially when they are very young. And we stand by that. However, weekend afternoons, during "quiet time", there will now often be a showing of Little Pim (French educational things for sort of Charlie's age and up), Curious George, Clifford The Big Red Dog, or Bloomberg Specials... depending on who has the remote. I am kind of neutral on it. I think there are clear benefits to some shows (especially the french ones but also the others so they know what kids at school are discussing somewhat and are not pariahs) but I also don't think any more television is a good thing. I know how dumb I feel after having that flickering blue light on my face for an evenings and I want them to have something resembling an attention span and creativity, so we're allowing it to seep into our lives but we're trying to stave off a flood.
