One bizarre thing about this August trip to Harbour Island was that it was utterly devoid of other people. The locals were still marching around but there were maybe five other "outsiders" like us which made for a very eerie tone to the whole island. I guess it's too hot for others then and most of the restaurants and hotels were shut for the month. But it did mean that the pool was all ours (the hotel was closed at the marina) and most of the restaurants were happy to have guests. It was like having your own little island.
