saturday stroll

This was a great idea.  Liz and I used to take walks in Ferry Point Park with Magic every weekend and loved it.  It's one of the few places in Bermuda where you can go and see almost no evidence of humans outside of the age old fort that guards the straits leading into Castle Harbour.  Liz took Magic off for an adult paced walk down the old railway trail and I took the kids.  Initially, I thought we would just kick a ball around until Liz got back but the kids were game.  They set off with purpose down the railway trail on a day speckled with sunlight and rimmed with bushes and trees and eye-level cacti.  A few trips, falls, and skinned knees later, they were unbowed and probably walked a good mile or so on their own which was frankly a little farther than their father was intending given his own wilting muscles.  This is what days in Bermuda are meant for and we're so lucky to have such peace and beauty so close by.
