the tooth, the whole tooth, and nothing but the tooth

Since he was... oh... about six weeks old, people have been telling us Charlie is teething. This assertion is usually made based on the Niagra Falls of dribble which streams from his mouth on a continuous basis causing extra precautions such as a plastic bib even when not eating. Anyway, it hasn't been true... until now. Punching its way through his gum like a slow motion enamel bullet, Charlie's first tooth has barely arrived. The poor little dude is a little more uncomfortable than usually and waking up a bit more (can you blame him?) but he's coping well. His parents, however, are another story. Sure the increased sleep deprivation is a problem but nothing compared to the existential crisis that comes from your final child reaching even the most basic of milestones. You can grow up all you want, Charlie. Just make sure we're growing up at the same speed.

Wow, how cute! It's something a parent can be very proud of. Memories such as these are to be cherished forever.
