up and away
So we tried an experiment: can we travel with two kids for a long weekend and survive? So we planned a trip to Beantown. It's nearby, known quantity and reasonably within budget. Plus it has the added benefit of being within driving distance of Gramps and Nan and Uncle Justin and Aunt Maureen. We'd prepped Schuyler by reading to here from Gaston Et L'Avion and renting copies of Die Hard 2. We also hid the iPad from her until the plane and it was a hit. No big bag packed with books, puzzles and crayons - just the iPad loaded with books, puzzles, drawing apps and games. The kids both cooperated well for the journey and made it easy on their mom and dad... Except when Schuyler was asked to put on her seat belt for landing. I always assumed that the screeching kid on landing was screaming because their ears hurt... It turns out that wearing a seat belt is just as painful.
