When Daddy was studying for his exam, Trystan's parents graciously invited Schuyler over for the night a couple of times to give Daddy some time to study. We finally got to reciprocate and host our very first sleepover. I'm not sure the kids realise that the parents are fumbling through the whole guest thing the way we are but it worked out fine. Nothing like some yoghurt smoothies, hours swimming, and belly full of pizza to make sure the dynamic duo actually fell asleep by 8:30pm (a full two hours ahead of schedule). And P.S. who doesn't love blowing bubbles in their milk?

The oracle has spoke
It's just fun to see what happens when Schuyler practices her letters. I'm not sure if this means I should "believe in 9" or whether point number 9 is that i should "be left" or something. I'm waiting for that Shakespeare play to come out of these monkeys at the typewriter.

Curious morning
It is a minor miracle that I was able to function at a basic level this morning. It is equally miraculous that both kids survived the night unscathed. We were trying to break Charlie in again. He's been getting up throughout the night and then up for good at 5(!). Clearly, this is unacceptable and normally we would just let him cry, however, since the recent escape attempt and consequent fall onto the hardwood floors, we can't. We have to have eyes on at all times when he's crying. So neither of us got more than a couple if hours sleep last night - hence Curious George this morning (rewarding bad behaviour anyone?).

The struggle continues...
So Charlie, what's going on? You want so badly to get in your chair and put your straps on solo but you won't each the main meal. Sure you will eat fruit and baby junk food and occasionally cheese but what about chicken and veg? You are a determined little guy. But, too often, you are determined not to eat your food, and not to sleep until a reasonable hour. Let's refocus that energy in the right direction!

water play at baby jail
On Wednesdays, our Carlito has "Water Wednesdays" when his Baby Jail decides to expend their valuable water reserves on water toys for the kids such as this high tech "storage box full of water" ride that apparently tickled him to the bone because, man, does he look happy. Mental note: He is happier in a box of water than he is with a box of cartoons so no need to turn on the boob tube.

No more pull ups!
These are the little victories that loom large in our lives. After a very pseudo scientific evaluation of the morning pull ups, Schuyler made the leap to Official Big Girl last night when she slept with no pull up! Congratulations, little bear! Now we just need to break the thumb and doudou dependency and we'll be all set!
