release into the wild

Our little cub fed herself for the first time today so we think she is finally ready for release into the wild where she can feed on the abundant soggy pasta trees and mushed pea bushes she will find there. She loved it too. I think she might just be a little strong willed and a little bit of a control freak which is surprising given her parentage. The only part she hates is the putting on and taking off of her protective garments (see top photo)

poser

Schuyler's mama could not resist posting these photos so she could look at them while she is at work and missing her cute chunky little bear...

grouching tiger

Schuyler is not yet an outdoors pet. I took her outside to see how she would react to real grass rather than carpet. My theory was that she would find the grass relentlessly interesting to grip and pull and stuff. My theory was wrong. Grass is apparently scratchy and pokey and generally uncomfortable.

cranky baby

We don't know what is up with our little cub these days but she is cranky. Only in spurts. She'll go from laughing to crying and back again. Probably teething. Then again, we have been saying that she's teething since month two, so we are probably wrong again. Here she is trying to climb over Mount Mama which, apparently, was insurmountable.

sunday morning sun

Appropriately wearing a "let it snow" onezie, Schuyler survives the brutal Bermuda winter sunlight through the window.

busy weekend

Schuyler was indifferent to meeting her uncle john who was in Bermuda with his girlfriend, Kate, doing some gigs with Schuyler's dad. He, on the other hand, appeared to quite enjoy her company. Personally, i think she should reconsider her reaction and put a little effort into getting to know him. He's a fine fellow.

goodnight sweetheart

Lately, Schuyler has been a bit of a cranky little bear. We think she's teething. Then again, we've been thinking she has been teething since about the second month when she became a drool machine. It seems the symptoms for 'teething' are also the symptoms for "being a baby". Anyway, one thing she usually still enjoys is her bedtime ritual which consists of changing her into her gown, zipping her up in her sleep sack and trying to get through "Goodnight Moon" before she eats the book. These pictures misrepresent the amount of reading our baby actually does. This "reading" is a preamble to "tasting".

sick leave

Schuyler, her mum and her dad have all been on sick leave this past week with various coughs, fevers and other symptoms. Here's hoping the coming week finds us in better health.

the oscars

Schuyler's great taste in men extends to Kerry and Gavin's son, Oscar (at last, an older man!). Schuyler was drooling all over him. She was also drooling all over the stool. And the toys. And the carpet. And herself. Difficult to say what she liked best.
