bathtime: a summer special
One heck of a great distraction, this little thing. The only annoying thing is that the little bear will not stay put! In and out. In and out. Running on the slippery tiles. Ready for the hospital emergency room.
ideology
Schuyler must be a little bored of "Five Little Ducks" because she keeps going to the grown up book shelf for inspiration. First, she was all about an old textbook "Morality in Practice" now the impenetrable Marx and Engel's tome (which even her Dad who owns the book hasn't read in its entirety). Well, I suppose part of our goal in this whole parenting thing is to provide a good moral foundation. Maybe when she reads the book the right way up, it might start to sink in.

vocabulary
One of the most unexpectedly charming and miraculous aspects of this whole parenting thing recently has been hearing this baby start to talk. I remember when she was just a blob of baby that didn't even know we existed and only knew one word: Waaaaaaaaa. Now, she's understanding a lot and building up a vocabulary only the well versed in Schuyler could pick out but here's a quick list for posterity:

1 | Gog | Dog |
2 | Mumma | Mother |
3 | Dada | Father |
4 | Woah | No |
5 | Bah | Bath/Bain |
6 | Ankoo | Thank you very much |
7 | Sh sh | Shoes / Chaussures |
8 | Shhhh | I'm tired / hush |
9 | Up | Up |
10 | Tris...tan | Tristan (playmate) |
11 | Kah | Car / Cat |

out to brunch
Schuyler drops a hint to her parents.
Only fourteen years and eight months until she gets one with a motor.
An ill-advised trip to brunch at the Southampton Princess for Megan's birthday at least made us aware of their fantastic kid's playroom. We may be booking some time in there in the near future.

windy day
Schuyler clearly prefers frolicking in the tropical storm winds of passing Hurricane Bill rather than just hanging around inside the house.

Hurricane Bill
This morning Schuyler "helped" prep for Hurricane Bill's winds by bringing in our plants.
She found the whole process pretty exciting.
Surf's up on the south shore of Bermuda.

crashed
Schuyler was worn out after a delightful afternoon frolicking with her friend Eli at Southampton Princess.

a summer afternoon
No glass slipper, but if the shoe fits...
The Bermuda Aquarium is more than just a museum, aquarium and zoo - it's a fully functioning day care (supervision not included).

air travel
Daddy and Schuyler slept on the flight.
But before we took off, Schuyler made sure she knew what to do in the unlikely event of an emergency.
And, we're back home...
